Introducing the Manifold Universe of Polkamon

Anime art has seen unparalleled growth over recent years. Its popularity has increased primarily because of its unique ability to grow with its followers. With its roots firmly embedded in Japan, anime is now a worldwide phenomenon. Given this popularity and growth, it seems natural to transition from physical anime collectibles (such as basic trading cards) to interactive NFT anime collectibles. NFT technology represents not just an art medium however but a truly unique virtual proposition with a multitude of possibilities and use cases.

Unlike regular cryptocurrencies, Non-Fungible Tokens, or NFTs, cannot be directly exchanged with each other. This is because no two NFTs are identical — even those that exist on the same platform or in the same collection. You can say with absolute certainty that you are the owner of your digital collectible. There is only one specific manifestation of your collectible on the blockchain and the blockchain publicly tracks every transaction so ownership cannot be challenged.

Over the past year our team has been diligently coding to realise the vision of Polkamon, to enrich the NFT ecosystem with a new kind of digital collectible:

The Manifold Universe of Polkamon.

What is Polkamon?

Polkamon are exquisitely animated digital collectibles created using blockchain technology. Each Polkamon is backed by a truly unique NFT that is indistinguishable from any other NFT and can be unpacked with $PMON tokens, the native ERC-20 token on the Polkamon platform. Each collectible is inimitable, authentic and differs in rarity. The Polkamon NFT collection can easily be integrated into modern games, art and other blockchain connected products.

Polkamon is headed up by three talented software engineers. The CEO, Leif Eric Leiser is an experienced full-stack developer and entrepreneur. Lennart Brandt, the CMO, has founded numerous mobile apps and been active in the crypto space for over five years. Along with these two is Finn Hansen, who is an experienced app and frontend developer and NFT collectibles enthusiast.

The Polkamon technology building blocks consist of three layers that create a modern and sustainable ecosystem. The base layer is an NFT decentralized ownership system. This ownership layer is supported by $PMON tokens for increased liquidity and trading ease. Affixed to the base is a layer that enriches the sole NFTs by providing detail-rich visuals and metadata. The top layer is the application level. At this level, proven ownership along with the other layers creates an infinite universe of utilization.

Blockchain technology allows Polkamon collectibles to be integrated easily into Layer 2 utilization applications, creating a ‘plug and play’ experience. The Polkamon team is constantly building relationships with potential partners for L2 utilization in the space of game, art and other collectibles.

As digital collectibles, Polkamon can be utilized by ever-growing blockchain-based ecosystems. To accelerate this process Polkamon exist in native mobile apps, widgets and Polkadex.

The Unique Structure of Polkamon

With all the innovative ways NFT and blockchain technology are being used in the crypto space, Polkamon has the unique mix of properties that make NFT collectibles and gamified entertainment a whole new standard for others to live up to. Polkamon NFTs are able to combine the simplicity of the technologies’ expectation with the high end visualizations. In addition, we are able to provide multiple layers of utilization that goes beyond “digital art” or collectables. All these characteristics combined with ease of trading create a new bar in the NFT space.

We also recognize that NFTs can either be way too simple in the wrong ways or too complex and create a huge barrier for community interest. There are no crazy games with Polkamon, no abstract mining rules or complex connections. In regard to visual representations, Polkamon is a very visual ecosystem for NFTs and therefore we wanted to push the visual limits of current NFT technology by providing extremely high definition animations to our creatured collectables. We also think that by providing a great visual experience, this will also contribute to a more exciting experience in trading on the Polkamon marketplace.
