Question for Part 1- Project overview

Question 1:   To kickstart today's AMA, please introduce briefly about your team and some key features of Mines of Dalarnia.

Mr. Manfred: My name is Manfred Pack and I am working as a Project Lead on Mines of Dalarnia. I have been working in the games industry since 2009, starting off as a producer supporting startups in developing and publishing their games. More recently I worked as a Game Director/Product Manager on f2p games for Mobile, Browser and PC.

Mines of Dalarnia is developed by Workin Man studio. Our studio was founded in 2006, over the years, WM has created hundreds of apps and games spanning the mobile, web and entertainment industries and it has world-class partners, including Disney, Unity, Sesame Street etc. We started to explore blockchain games in 2019. So, let me introduce you to the key features of Mines of Dalarnia.

MoD is an action-adventure game with procedurally generated levels. Players mine and combine various in-game items, improving their skills and gear in order to unlock the secrets of the MoD universe while searching for rare relics and artifacts. There are different terrains to be explored as well as monsters to conquer in the quest to those rare resources and friends can play together in the Dalarnian world.

That is pretty much the core of the game.

Question 2:  Next, please share with us the roadmap of Mines of Dalarnia in the coming time.

Mr. Manfred: Recently we released the Alpha 0.1.1 Version on testnet, which includes numerous updates to gameplay and dapp functionality, and users can get the testnet token to play the game. Players will have the option to explore four different mine ‘types’, which include Terrestrial, Lava, Ice and Darkness.  We already have over 10K users playing the game in the past few weeks. We also launched an early player campaign - the early players will have a chance to win NFTs. We are also launching a series of NFT sales to get everyone equipped for the game.

In the meantime, in Q3 and Q4 this year, we will add more gameplay to the current version, enlarge the land plot owner group as well as launch the game on mainnet.

In 2022, our key focus will be around the social and metaverse element of the game. We are building a space station for miners while they are not actively mining so that players can enjoy the social and building element in the game as well.

You can play the current version at: https://testnet.minesofdalarnia.com

Question 3: Could you please update some latest news or big events of Mines of Dalarnia in the coming time?

Mr. Manfred: In the coming month, we are going to close the Private Sale fundraising. We are happy to have lots of VCs and KOLs to back us. For more details we will disclose that in a couple of weeks. We are also launching a series of NFT sales to get everyone equipped to the game. Please follow our channels for more of the latest news. And we believe that the Token Generate Event will happen in the next 1-2 months. We are very excited about that.

Questions for Part 2 - Pre-collected questions from Twitter:

Question 1:With an innovative approach of Dalarnia Token system, players can purchase virtual mining plots, and put them up for rent into the community. My question is who determines the rentage fee? Does a portion transaction fee from rentage go to the project? If so, Whats the percentage?

Mr. Manfred: For the land owners in game, there is a lot of room for them to design around their land including the rent. However, it is an open marketplace for renting, so depending on how you set the rental fees, players might or might not choose to rent if you place it too high. In terms of transaction fee, the marketplace will charge a transaction fee for both NFT rental and sales. The percentage is not finalized yet, but we are looking at something around 0.1-0.3%.

Question 2: What are your major goals to achieve in the next 3-4 years? And What are your plans to expand and gain more adoption?

Mr. Manfred: Our goal is to develop the core game for general international audiences and not to explicitly exclude any demographics. Long-term we wish for MoD to have a decentralised governance model and DAO driven game development. The token holders will be invited to join the Decentralised Autonomous Organization. Players get tot vote on important game proposals and issues, additional functionality, new NFTs and approving NFTs created. With our past experience from both the games launched at Workin Man as well as previous experience from other companies, we have learned to work with different marketing strategies to attract users in the gaming ecosystem on multi-platforms. For us as a game studio, we have confidence in building a game that is fun and that will also make use of NFTs, Play to Earn and token incentives to attract users in the crypto space.

Question 3:  If this game is an NFT game, is there a marketplace we can use for the needs of our game characters?

Mr. Manfred: Definitely. The main gameplay is set up around mining, combating as well as collecting resources. Assets in the game are issued as NFTs and can be transferred and traded freely in the in-game marketplace. MoD offers an in-game marketplace for users to trade or rent items ranging from minerals mined, tools crafted to unique cosmetics. For each transaction that happened on the marketplace, a fee will be charged in DAR (native token). Due to the different distribution of minerals on each terrain, players might be abundant in one type of mineral while lacking another type. It also provides an easy venue for landowners to monetize on their proceeds.

Question 4: The trend these days is obviously NFT gaming - especially the ones with Play-to-earn system. I see that it’s one strong point of Mines of Dalarnia. Can you explain more about Mines of Dalarnia’s Play-to-earn mechanism?

Mr. Manfred: Play-to-Earn is a milestone in the gaming industry where playing games is no longer only about spending and contributing revenue to game companies but also a chance for players to manage and earn. In Mines of Dalarnia there are 3 ways that users can earn by playing the game. Firstly, players could be landowners and earn taxes of the proceeds that other miners earn in the game. Secondly, by actively playing and leveling up in the game, users could obtain more powerful gear which they can then sell on the secondary market. Lastly, as users play the game, they could earn experience as well as collect resources (minerals and treasures), which are also in NFT format and can be traded.

Question 5:  What is the most lethal feature and competitive advantage that distinguishes the Mines of Dalarnia project from other projects? Does your project support the staking program? If yes, could you explain the reason?

Mr. Manfred: MoD´s gameplay is split into two modes. Mining gameplay, a 2D platform-mining game where the player controls a character and guides them through a procedurally-generated level (plot), mining through various blocks of earth, to discover and collect minerals of various rarities. Collected minerals are then used to upgrade the character through mining equipment and character attributes. Collected minerals can be also used to craft a refinery which is required to lease a plot of land in the Real Estate gameplay, a management style interface where players buy and lease levels/plots for others to mine within. We are definitely one of the earliest builders in the blockchain game, and the current testnet is public and playable. In the meantime, the current games in blockchain are more emphasizing on the token economics features, where they have the player experience evolve around the "earning" aspect. However, for us as a game studio, we want to balance the fun gamer experience as well as the economics on day 1. For us, the priority is to make a game that is fun to play and then we could add on blockchain as well as token incentives to the game. We have players mine for 5-6 hours in Mines of Dalarnia and record videos on YouTube, and this is before any incentive program is published with regards to testnet.

PART 3: BEST LIVE QUESTIONS CRYPTOFAMILY GROUP

Question 1: While you build your project, do you take into account community feedbacks and demands?

Mr. Manfred: As for now we have a pretty clear vision of what we have to achieve for the mainnet launch. Once the game has launched on mainnet we will surely look into community feedback when planing the next steps.

Question 2: How important is the community to you?  and how can we collaborate or help you for the development of the project?

Mr. Manfred: Community is at the heart of every blockchain and online game nowadays. So having an active community that is helping us to shape MoD´s future is very important for us.

Question 3: Staking, NFT is very hottest, do you think you will apply NFT technology to your products in the achieved future?

Mr. Manfred: NFts are a core part of our games economy. Almost every in-game asset is an NFT. As for staking, we now that this is an important feature for lots of blockchain project and we will look into it once we launched our token. So please follow our channels to get the latest news.

Question 4: Most projects have to go through certain difficulties and challenges, what difficulties do you face and how do you overcome them?

Mr. Manfred: As for most companies Covid-19 certainly was challenging. However, we are lucky to have a working remote set-up that did not cause a major pushback in our plans.

Question 5: Most users only care about immediate benefits rather than the real value of the project in the long-term. How can Your Project convince users invest to your platform in the long-term?

Mr. Manfred: We aim at creating a game that is fun to play and therefor establishes a community that is not only interested in the play to earn and investment aspect but also enjoys it´s time with game and the community. We are confident that we can achieve that which will result in community that will not look out for the immediate benefits but wants the game to succeed.
